The historic Dial Mill (on the National Registry of Historic Places) which was built in 1830, is located on this property as is a 40' x 100' modern barn with an Aluminum metal roof. The 40' x 40' Mill was once a grist, flour, corn Mill. It is the equivalent of a 5-story building by today's standards. The superstructure of the Mill is comprised of 16 square 40' long hand hewn center cut, knotless, hand hewn virgin Georgia yellow pine, all held together by mortise and tenon joints which are secured by 1" diameter hickory pins. all held together by mortise and tenon joints which are secured by 1" diameter hickory pins. The Mill was powered by a 16' diameter, 4' wide overshot water wheel. The solid wood centrifugal blower was crafted to separate the chaff from the wheel, and the corncob pieces from the core by flowing a concentrated air stream as the system tossed the grain in the air so the lighter particulate material was blown out of the Mill, as clean grain was further processed. The milling equipment is still in place as is the grinding wheel which was made in Sweden. The Mill is restorable. The barn is large and in very good condition. There is room on this property to build your dream home OR to be developed with numerous estate-sized homes. There are beautiful views oft he Little Haynes Creek and it shoals which run along the rear of the property. PLEASE NOTE: The 11.22 ac. tract of property, which is adjacent to this tract, is also available. It features a beautiful 4904 sq. ft. custom-built home and outbuildings. See GA MLS# 8980639
